Daniel Weissbort, poet and translator, was the founder with Ted Hughes of Modern Poetry in Translation, which he edited until 2004. He directed the Tranlsation Workshop and MFA Programme in Translation at the University of iowa for thirty years. His memoir of Joseph Brodsky, From Russian with Love, was published in 2004.
