PN Review is a journal published by Carcanet Press Limited. PN Review is committed to being plain with subscribers and users of the website (www.pnreview.co.uk) about what it means to be a subscriber, how and why we contact you and how we use your information. This statement sets out our terms and conditions for subscriptions to PN Review. Please do read it before subscribing. When you confirm your subscription (online, by email, phone or post) you acknowledge your agreement to these terms and conditions. SUBSCRIPTION AND CONTRACT
There are several ways to subscribe to PN Review:
DELIVERY OF THE JOURNAL
If you are subscribing to receive printed copies of PN Review, we will deliver the journal(s) to the address given when you place the order. Any order placed will commence with the next available issue, so please allow up to 60 days to receive your first issue. You are responsible for giving us the correct and complete address for delivery. We do not accept liability for refunding the cost of any journal(s) that are despatched to an incorrect address given. You are responsible for notifying us immediately if you change your address so we can update your subscription delivery details.
DELAYED DELIVERY/NON-DELIVERY
We will not be held liable for delay of delivery or non-delivery of the journal as a result of the following circumstances.

The following terms apply to Agents only, not individual subscribers:
Repeated claims from Agents for replacement copies to the same delivery address will not be processed. A replacement copy will be despatched free of charge for the first claim only. Thereafter individual issues can be purchased from the publisher Carcanet Press.
CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS
Where a minimum term of 12 month subscription is ordered, cancellations are not permitted until the end of such period, nor is part cancellation or reimbursement of cost of issues not yet sent to you. In the case of 24 month subscriptions, cancellations are permitted for the second period of 12 months but no later than 13 months into the contract.
For online subscriptions, we allow an initial cancellation period of within 14 days of formation of this contract. To cancel your subscription, please:
SUBSCRIPTION RENEWALS
Subscribers must make certain that their subscriptions are renewed promptly to avoid disruption to their subscription. We include reminder letters with the printed journal towards the end of your subscription period (this excludes agents who have asked us not to remind institutions directly). For online-only subscribers, email reminders are sent during the final month of your subscription. Online-only subscribers must ensure that we have a valid email address for them. We are unable to accept renewals where the subscription has lapsed by more than 90 days. In this circumstance, a new subscription will be formed. Any journal issues which have been missed during the lapsed period may be purchased as back issues (subject to availability).
PRICE GUIDELINES
Prices are clearly displayed online on the Subscribe page of the website. The price which you agreed to for a subscription at that particular time and for the chosen period is the price you are contracted for. It will not be altered for you during the period. If, for any reason, an error occurs in the pricing you are offered for your subscription, we will notify you immediately, inviting you to contact us to reconfirm the order. If we are unable to contact you, your order will be cancelled. If payment is erroneously duplicated and as a result processed twice, we will refund you the additional payment made.
AUTHORISATION OF PAYMENT
If you are not over 16 years of age or not using your own payment card, you must ask permission of the credit/debit card holder. By submitting payment, you are confirming that you have obtained the express prior permission of the credit/debit cardholder.
LIABILITY
Our liability to you in the event of any edition of the journal being lost in despatch shall be limited to replacement of the missing issue. Claims for journals which have not been delivered should be made in accordance with the details in the DELAYED DELIVERY/NON-DELIVERY section above. We confirm that the journal shall match the description of the product you purchased and that we will deliver the journal to you using reasonable care and skill and within a reasonable period of the publication of each issue of the journal. To the extent permitted by law, we exclude all other liability to you. Our exclusions of liability shall not apply to any damages arising from death or personal injury caused by our negligence or that of any of our employees or agents.
COPYRIGHT
Each institutional user of PN Review may access and search the PN Review database and view its entire contents, and may also reproduce insubstantial extracts from individual articles or other works in the database to which their institution’s subscription provides access, including in academic assignments and theses, online and/or in print. All quotations must be credited to the author and to PN Review. Institutional users are not permitted to reproduce any entire article or other work, or to make any commercial use of any PN Review material (including sale, licensing or publication) without PN Review’s prior written permission. Institutions may notify institutional users of any additional or different conditions of use which they have agreed with PN Review.
The PN Review website and its contents are protected by copyright and other intellectual property rights. You acknowledge that all intellectual property rights including copyright in the PN Review website and its contents belong to or have been licensed to PN Review or are otherwise used by PN Review as permitted by applicable law.
All intellectual property rights in articles, reviews and essays originally published in the print edition of PN Review and subsequently included on the PN Review website belong to or have been licensed to PN Review. You may not download, store, disseminate, republish, post, reproduce, translate or adapt such material in whole or in part in any form without the prior written permission of PN Review. PN Review makes no express or implied representation and gives no warranty of any kind in relation to any content available on the PN Review website including as to the accuracy or reliability of any information either in its articles, essays and reviews or in the letters printed in its letter page or material supplied by third parties. PERSONAL INFORMATION AND USE OF YOUR DATA

We will only hold your data for as long as is necessary for us to fulfil your subscription and always in line with our privacy policy. We offer withdrawal of consent and deletion of your data at any time upon your request. You have the right to ask for a copy of the information that PN Review in its subscription system holds about you. If you want to unsubscribe, update your preferences, or request a copy of the information that we hold about you, you can do so in a number of ways:

We confirm that we use reasonable efforts to ensure that purchasing your subscription through us is completely safe and secure, but we shall not be responsible for any loss of data or any other loss in the event that such security is compromised. In particular, we will not be liable to you for any losses you may suffer as a result of unauthorised access by a third party to the personal or payment information you provide us. It is your responsibility to ensure the security of your own credit/debit card details to avoid unauthorised use by a third party. If you pay using your credit card, debit card or PayPal account, your order is processed by PayPal. This is reputed to be one of the most secure online payment systems in the world. We would encourage you to read PayPal’s privacy statement for further information on how it uses and keeps your data safe. We do not store credit card details, nor do we share subscriber payment details with third parties.
VARIATION AND REVIEW OF THESE TERMS
We keep these terms under regular review. They were last updated in June 2022. We reserve the right to modify them at any time so would encourage you to review them from time to time. Changes and clarifications will take immediate effect upon their posting to the website. If we make material changes to these terms, we will notify you that they have been updated. Once we have communicated any such changes by email, or by updating our terms and conditions online you will automatically be bound by the revised terms and conditions.
SUBSCRIPTION
If the journal changes frequency (so that the intervals between editions are longer than bi-monthly), we will honour the number of issues that were originally due to you when the contract was formed.
GOVERNING LAW
These terms and conditions are governed by English law. You hereby irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts, notwithstanding the jurisdiction where you are based.

DELAYED DELIVERY/NON-DELIVERY

- Where we are unable to process payment.
- Where a delay or failure to deliver or failure to publish is due to unforeseen circumstances out of our control, or the control of our agents. This includes, but is not restricted to: postal strikes, labour disputes, legislative constraints, failure of transport infrastructure, failure of telecommunication links, utilities failure, fire, flood, government act, act of God.
- Where you have not notified us of a change of address.
Claims are subject to the following conditions:
- Claims will only be accepted for issues due whilst a valid subscription was in place.
- Claims must be submitted within the following time periods, to allow for delays in the postal system:
- For deliveries within the UK: not before 30 days from despatch and not after 120 days from despatch.
- For deliveries to the rest of the world: not before 90 days from despatch and not after 180 days from despatch.
