James E. Montgomery

James E. Montgomery FBA is Sir Thomas Adams’s Professor of Arabic and Fellow of Trinity Hall, University of Cambridge. His most recent books are his translations of Ibn al-Muʿtazz, In Deadly Embrace (2023) and Abū Nuwās, A Demon Spirit (2024). His next book, Death’s Snare: Classical Arabic Hunting Poems, is scheduled to appear in 2026.
