Sergey Makarovsergey makarov is a fiction writer, translator, and historian, whose publications include A Fortress Over the Chasm - Diaries, Lectures, Art and Music of Terezin 1941-45 (with Elena Makarova) (4 volumes, Moscow/Jerusalem: Gesharim, 2003-2008); University of Survival (Prague: G+G, 2002); Long Live Life, or Dance Around the Skeleton (Jerusalem: Verba, 2001). Makarov is the son-in-law of Semyon Izraelevich Lipkin.
