The great Stubbs' picture of the great Eclipse
Hangs in the corner it defies,
Effortless. The great are luminous.
Orbed flanks shine solid, amber, having won.
A gold-red horse called Hermit won, and broke
The wild Earl of Hastings, who had flung
Woods and fields against. What can Eclipse
Comfort those eclipsed, who never won?
