StargazerBefore the petals swirled around your mouth and eyes;
Before the crows browsed among the herbage
That guarded your little rise;
Before the final sigh
Unthreaded the confusion, hope and rumor of hope
That bound you to your days -
You apportioned to each son an image of yourself
Viewed now by the youngest one and his young daughter
