Six Poems
Early Bird Blues
I am the early bird.
I have worn out my shoes
Simply because I heard
First come was first to choose.
One of my talents is avoiding queues.
I never ask how long
I shall be made to wait.
I have done nothing wrong.
I don't exaggerate.
To state the obvious, I'm never late.
Why has the queue not grown?
Nobody hears me speak.
I stand here all alone
Which makes me look unique
...
