Thousandfold

Thousandfold the light
encompasses us

patiently
against our mortal

impatience.
We are human,

thus destitute.
Awkward we fumble

with our small
offerings

to the everyday,
crumbs, petals, dust.

What do we sift over,
what should we keep,

what turn to gold,
give thanks for,

render thousandfold
