If I Were a Kimono Maker

If I were a kimono maker
searching for
a gentle swirling print
to grace the winter season,
I would go
in November,
on the last weekend
for autumn leaves,
to Gifu prefecture,
first spending the night
in an old house
of wood and paper
and hundred-year old beams
around a fire
with mountaineers,
