To stop the watersrising
trailer sucker hopper dredgershoover up the seabed
then jettisonwhatever they’ve trapped
sandsilt
aggregaterainbow it
in pummelling arcscloser to the coast
widening the distancea fingerbreadth
between seaand shoreline
between nowand what is coming
allsortsspread out on the beaches
for an army of citizenscientists
to brandishas signposts
hammerstone flintsarrowheads
awls antler-axesincluding their wooden handles
