Two Poems

City of Ghosts

In the mountains, like humans the visible ghosts
Found refuge in their cells.
In caves, they made their homes.
Replaced the Buddha statues, close to the flowing river,
They remained mortal.

The invisible ones settle above each
Man’s mind – like a cloud.
They drink the only river.
Resting above the tulips, they hunt men and then women.
Wasteland after wasteland,
They conquer.
Like a bird, they descend.
From caves to plains – mountains to rivers,
All build their one home.

Together – men wearing Kalashnikovs on their shoulders,
