This elegance of stem and fluted bud
  appears to promise something more than common:
  better than scruffy Hawkbit - something Roman -
purple as Caesar's toga - or the red
of roses, sunsets, blood.

But in the yawning involucre, a frill
of misfit yellow petals fails to fill
  its setting, seeming prematurely born,
