From an Old Songbook

Daniel Huws

The girl was sensational, he was a creep,
His eyes were like pebbles while hers were so deep
That at night the thought of them left me no sleep
They so clearly knew something was lacking.

As I leaned on this tree I could only advise
That touch it or eat it sure nobody dies
Of a bite of a fruit that will open your eyes
Till like gods you gaze out on the garden.
