This stripe of light
we lie inside,
a curtain crack,
carries me to you.
Another day,
a window breeze,
touching my shoulder, speaks
of what is realized,
like how you walk, or eat,
or dress, or sleep.
Love is made tenable
in skin and bone.

But if what is loved
is drawn away-
