Sono Luminus

Jesus was never more handsome
than when wearing his hat
with the broad brim
for gardening

or going to a rave in, you said,
that Ibiza beach gown
of bleached linen.
The spade in his right hand

points the way
down a steep hill
where two Dutch Protestant women
(Salome and Mary of Clopas?)

look lost in conversation.
Dawn, and an opalescent
morning is breaking.
