    Tainted love
Goes the voice in the fairground song.
    Tainted love.

I watched the sea last night -
    Its splintering pavilions -
And walk this evening
    Counting broken roofs
To where they lie
A million years unseen -
The storm's gizzard stones:
        Volleys of phospors
        That rained on this peninsula
        And smoke in every gutter's tributary of glass.

On the esp the gale's inventory:
    Adzehead of Bethesda slate,
The pipit in his stripes;
