Cover image and artwork: the cover image and two-page insert in this issue feature extracts from ‘preposition stranding’ by Drew Milne. These extracts are part of a work in progress provisionally entitled Lichen Strains. The poetic argument of the relation between image and text unsettles the conventional hierarchy of black print over white page, taking up instead with the awkward legibility of white letters emerging like lichens from amid images of lichens..
