Moonlighting

Last night you had a walk-on
as a Spanish waiter
in my dream.
How tanned you were
and how surprised I was to see you
in your startling white tunic,
servile and a little sad.


Five Strategies for Dealing with Loneliness

Answer ads to see the room -
sip tea with strangers, question them about the council tax.
Answer other ads; go to see a mountain bike, a baby's crib, a set of velour-
covered chairs.

Pretend you have no home.
Sit on the street and chat to kindly passers by.
Accept a cup of tea.
